Turkator Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 I have a RE sx series 18" in my blazer and I love it and all but I want more... Well I am have a 1983 chevy Scotsdale that I am switching into and I have the plans for my box to be built in the bed... Question is, Should I buy another sx 18", or should I sell the sx I have and upgrade to the MT's? For the money will I have that much more boom? I am some-what new to audio and havenever heard the MT 18s. Many thanks for those with experience in my question.
bkolfo4 Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 I would go to a Fi BTL or AA mayhem over the MT if this is your daily driver (I have used all three). Changes were made to the MT, but the Fi subs with cooling and long coil still make a better sub for daily. Brian Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
