Redemption
Alrighty Guys, I'm new to all this and have a very small budget ($1000). I've done some research and come up with this. Now all opinions are accepted and I'd be glad to adapt any suggestions. Sub: HDC312 (360 With Aluminum Voice Coils) http://www.audioque.com/aq/HDCSeries.htm Box: Basic Ported Box, Nothing Special http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7498_S...Box-+1SV12.html Amp: Hifonics BXi 1610D http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17598_...+BXi+1610D.html Wiring Kit: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6240_A...e+KIT1450.html# I think I may need a better wiring kit, not sure. ! Thanks !
Mtgrooves
Looks good to me man 0 gauge should be just fine and the kit looks just fine IMO. Quote The Shoe Maker without shoes!
Bunker
Not bad for your first setup, I think you did a pretty damn good job on research. If I changed anything it would be the wiring kit but it will work fine. kirill007
Shouldn't you build you're own box to specs for the sub? Would sound louder and nicer if you build it properly. raytard
build your own box get a wiring kit from knukonceptz or rockford or monster or something reputable, wire isnt something to skimp on IMO, and a box is something to build yourself if you want it done right (not some slightly off size box with a too small port tuned to 28hz) and that amp is ok for your sub, just make sure its not clipping or you'll find out firsthand what a burnt coil smells like. Redemption
...I guess I'll go to the audio store here in town and get the box built and tuned...Looked at the knukoceptz Wiring kits, will this one do? : Kolossus Flex 0 Gauge Dual Amp Power Kit or something similar to that from that website. What amp do you recommend, with the new additions, should still be around 800$, So I have some money left over for a better amp. raytard
audioque 1200 would be a beast on that sub sundown 1200 or 1000 maybe I've always liked jbl, although some guys on here hate it, but gto1400 or the older power series 1200 would work great in this case there is nothing wrong with the hifonics IMO, just realize 1600 watts isnt happening, 1300-1400 is more likely, but that sub will be fine with that. as far as having a shop build a box, hand them a design from someone on here, 99% of shops will just build a box to published spec sheets, and people on here who know the sub will be able to get you the ebst box possible.
