Show us a picture of the box. More port area will not limit higher frequencies. Too little port area will restrict the lower frequencies at high output.( so it give a false sense of "wider frequency response") A "Frankenwoofer" either needs different boxes to test or you need T/S parameters to model a proper box. It's very possible you have a exagerated low end which makes it seem as if there isn't much above 55hz. Remove all the crossovers and test at moderate volume with a frequency sweep from 15-100hz.

You have found out why 8inch subwoofers are useless in cars, even though they exist, they shouldn't. Sealed enclosure (1 12inch) or 10inch ported are probably your only good options with the space you have available. Anything else will not be efficient.

Velcro(high quality) is your friend.

Damping factor above 700 at 4 ohm load at 20Hz. I wonder if people actually look at that number when looking for a SQ amp. (And if they know how the speaker wires change that number.) Price seems fair in my opinion (if the orange peel is fixed).

What's wrong with the paint job? Orange peel finish.

Specifications look great and the parts too, layout is great. Will the paint finish be better on production units? Maybe i should start saving...

Why would it be wrong? That's why you shouldn't go after the numbers on amp.

Now let's wait and see how long it takes untill someone says that you ripped off the color from that nova before you painted it your custom color. Great lookings cars though, that color probably looks even better in real life then in the pictures.

Well if you would've bought Rockford Fosgate products instead of these chinese crockford knockoffs there wouldn't be a problem. To the OP, 3 days probably isn't enough to ship it to RF, never mind the fact that they need time to test it. After about 2-3 weeks you might start to worry a bit. Average electronic RMA takes 3-4 weeks..

Less full of shit then understand what resting voltage means, and combine that with a cheap/uncalibrated DMM and there you go. But it should be around 12.8V, 12.6V is on the low side, eventhough we are talking about less then 2% difference.

Hey hey, next you need to get some people to engineer a few 4k 200hz monitors for you.... (and off course new graphic cards to properly make use of them) That's a great setup, I guess it would take a bit of time for me to get used to something like that if I ever moved from my single 20 inch full hd monitor

I'm poking a little. But if I understand the video, that is the distortion measured at the speaker outputs. That's 1% THD at the speaker outputs, that all the distortion combined from source to speaker outputs on the amps. So if the line drivers aren't set properly you will hear it at about 1% distortion, if the EQ isn't set properly you will hear it at 1% distortion, and so on. I don't want to make a DD-1 vs whatever other method of gain setting thread out of this. Thanks Tony for this video.
