Mellow18 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 QUESTION is it safe to have my subsonic filter off? im using mp3(ipod).i listen to rap oldies and R&B i was told that if i listen to rap/oldies/r&b on an mp3 player then i should have my subsonic switch to on. but!when i have it on my amp will go into protect if i turn it up to about 26 out of 35 volume on the alpine deck. and the subs are pushing weak.so i try different settings and they all failed. so i turn the subsonic filter off and the subs start to hit pretty good. ok so this is just a temp set up so i can hear some bass while i wait for my dat-2500.1 which i will be buying today, and also i have to wait till i can buy some dc subs to wall in my monte carlo. MY AMP ok my temp setup is an RF BD 1500.1,the old school one. which is 2 ohm stable. it has a phaze 0 and 160 switch or somthing liek that.. so it can only be at 0 or the other option. it also has a subsonic on or off switch..not a knob. MY SUBS the amp is pushing 2 old school RF subs rated at 1000rms each.(pair of punch power dvc 12'') the problem is they are dual 4 ohms which can only be 1 or 4 ohm loads. and the amp is not 1 ohm stable so i cant get my full 1500+ rms. so i have to settle for 4 ohm load which is prolly giving me 600-750rms im not sure. 2001 Black Monte Carlo SS chrome 20'' (1) Alpine i-9881 deck-ipod- (2) DC lvl 4XL 18''s-Walled- (1) DAT Hellfire - 2500.1-fused- (1) D3400 XS Power battery-fused- (2) CDT 6.5 comp (X) pioneer 6x9 set (1) RF T-400.4 (1) DC POWER ALT INSTALLED BY ROB FTW,Big3 (1) Viper 5901 Alarm + killer yorkies and chihuahas [EdgarCervantes] 4:31 pm: im in my room and out of nowere i hear bass im like oh shit sombody has bass in this city, i look out the window and its my mom bumping Gorilla Zoe
Guest KyleCannon Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 yes it is safe to have it off. just make sure to not be sending a bad signal to the subs.
