MBarber25 Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 I'm new to this stuff so don't laugh too much...but i'm about to buy (1) 15" Fi BTl and i have a couple questions. One is that what's the ideal dimensions on a box for this since i know i can't get a prefab one. (The cubes and port etc. all that stuff) Another is that i should be alright running the sub off a tiny JL 250/1 until i get enough money for my amp that i really need? I just have to make sure the gain isn't all the way up so it doesn't clip or whatever,,right? Simple questions lol so I hope someone can help lol...Any help is good its most appreciated..thanks. blackandgoldl69 Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 i would just wait till you can get the right amp and all of your power lined up then pay someone to build you a box for it
tristan560 Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Yeah the 250 will push it, not anywhere near its potential. Not sure how much truck space you got for dimensions and everything, but give it around 4-5cubes, and 50-80sq.in. of port and call it a day. And the tunings all up to you. 99 Jimmy SLT 4WD Systemless. 99 Grand Prix GTP DC XL 12 on 1.5k tuned lowwwwww.

tristan560 Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Just make sure the guy building the box knows how to tune a port. haha youd be suprised how many people just throw it in there. Other than that good luck. We all start out somewhere, can only get louder from there! :hairtrick: 99 Jimmy SLT 4WD Systemless. 99 Grand Prix GTP DC XL 12 on 1.5k tuned lowwwwww.
