96saturnsl Posted May 15, 2009 Report Share Posted May 15, 2009 ok well i gotta install a xm unit into a car in a few hours and ive done them before but i cant remember one little important detail. the male plug that is supposed to plug into the ciggarett lighter uses 5volts to power it not 12. i have a female socket that the male one plugs into to put behind the radio to help hide wires and one wire of the female socket goes to ground one to accessory wire for power. my question is....How do i get that down to 5 volts so i can run the xm and not use all 12volts that go through the accessory wire? help is very appretiated thanks, justin Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
