Building and setting the panels on a flat even surface will make things easier. If your going to cover where the bottom panel's edges meet the sides you dont need to be as precise with the angles. There are a couple of methods to meet weird shaped panels. One is just like your doing. Cardboard, marking with a pencil, cut, check and repeat until your happy. You can do even smaller sections and tape them all up into a pattern and transfer to a piece of wood. There are contour gauges that you can find at woodworking sites that work great. Some are flexible rubber guides that can be molded onto complex shapes to transfer the contour to a template. There is also a push thru wire type that does a good job as well. But money is kinda tight, so i decided to flip the tank so you wont see any hose/lines.. but come to find out that if i ran the hose from underneath, my gas tank got in the way......
