(DC AUDIO) BMW E36 Trunk Build (New Build, Page 11)

Recommended Posts

Allright, I'm gonna go ahead and start this tread and do all the work myself since everyone at my area try's to jack me for a simple custom box..

I'm no pro at this, so I could use all the help i can get! Never made a box in my life, so this might get ugly!! :spiteful: So don't laugh at me.

Also, I want to thank Foreverbumpn for always answering my newbie questions..

Here's my current ghetto set up, I'm gonna try to fix it up a bit...

Here's the ghetto set up now.

Posted Image

For now, I'm gonna make a simple sealed box.

Here, I made a model box out of a U-haul cardboard box :spiteful: , just to make sure it will fit in my trunk!!

remember wood glue IS your friend. more glue + fewer screws = good box. bracing is also your friend

Will do!! Thanks!!

Well dudes, I started on the box this weekend and here are some progress pixxxx...

Nothing extra ordinary! Just basic stuff!! :spiteful:

Posted Image

Here's the box in the back through the back seat!! notice the opening!!

I had to do some major surgery on the metal! I had to chop all that metal out! it's the only way for fit that 30x21x14 box through the trunk..

Finished the box and I got the speaker on and got it all wired up and ready to see what it sounds like...

Yeah, I know, I fu@ked up on the box :spiteful: I didn't fell like running to homedepot to buy a new wood so this will do for now...

I just wanted to see what a sealed box would sound like!!

Posted Image

After playing a couple of songs, my old set up, ( the two separate ported box was a lot louder) than this sealed box....

So, It sounds like it wants to release the air out so i was thinking of putting some ports.

Posted Image

What size tube ports and how many should i put? and i was thinking of putting the ports through the arm rest, or should i fire it through the rear deck?

Should I do 2 tube ports and what size? Here's a quick photoshop with the 2 tube ports...
