g-mobility Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Got two old school pheonix gold xs series 12`s. They have been through hell and are still going strong. Currently both are in sealed wedge shape boses. 20" Height 23" Wide 4" Inches deep at the top and 9" 1/2 at the bottom. Not much experience in ported boxes and friends that did have them sounded like a wet fart. Was reading up and discovered that if ported correct and built right, these 12`s could still put out some decent sound. 1500 watt amp also and it`s only at 25-30% volume level, could blow the subs out of the boxes if I wanted. So is it worth trying new boxes?
