manunitedfan200 Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 are their any advantages of running two separate amps to your subs? and if so whats a good rms wattage??
Rogers Posted May 29, 2009 Report Posted May 29, 2009 that is a very vague question.... so you will get vague answers..... running 2 amps will be harder on your electrical system(battery, alternator, ect) as far as the rms wattage goes... different subs are rated for different power values.... some will take 100 rms up to 3 or 4kw.... so it just depends on the subs.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/79921-rogers-700-dream-car-update-page-17-a-wall/?p=2335774 93 Saturn SC2My system4 SA-15's Walled 2 Cerwin-Vega S2000's 3 Kinetik Hc2000's Dual 200amp alts. you guys done with the peepee touching contest or do I need to end it?

Beanz Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 NO well you could but then if say you have a class AB amp with a mono block then you'll have some problems.and id keep it the same amps if your gonna run two amps to the sub since if you do different you could have more or less wattage on a voice coil and then if you set up the gains wrong on one of them then you'll get a blown coil that way or both, That's why they don't deliver. Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait. You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

Its running a michelin 225/60/17 on two wheels and the others cooper 175/50/17s on the other. Complete different feel and performance. Same concept applies to mixing and matching audio gear.
