thanks for the replies guys, the box comes out tomorrow....and ill have like 4 hours to work until i have to install streetglow on a 2008 cobalt which will def. take some time. But yes i do know my flaws on this one and its tearing me apart!!! The countersinks will be bondo'd and the edges will be routered and hopefully some 45's in there and fiberglassed. i def. need a brace in the middle, thinkin a 2x4 or all thread. I also need to do some bolt terminals to finish this bad boy off. God i cannot wait to get this done before slamtology.....

Allthread is easiest in your case and won't affect tuning at all really, due to small size. Where did you mount the amp? If your putting it on the box, be sure to double baffle where ever you mount it since you have flex going on. Hate to rattle it apart. Definatly run some 45s in there aswell. Nice build. DIY or die. Thats my motto...

It's all gone!

thanks cc, the amp is on the ground next to it, but im thinking about spinning the box around so the port shoots into the car, and then make a little bondo amp rack to mount on the back of the box opposite of where the port is and dress is up to match the inside of the car, the trim pieces and speaker pods that is. I have only made my own boxes, except for the first one that my uncle gave me with my first system. Ive made about 30 boxes in the last year, installed about 25 setups, but this is my first log, and my best sounding system to date, i love it. My friend has all thread so ill get some from him tomorrow and go with that. The flex is only on the top baffle for the record, at least that i can see now, i would guess theres more but there will be NO flex after tomorrow :) veyyy nicee

  • 3 weeks later...

Ok, so i actually had some time this week to work on the box and my new amp rack. I have had ACT classes and other things that had to get done before i could finish this up, so I'm sorry for the wait if anyone had been waiting lol. Well here are the pics, got some textured rustoleum paint to finish off the box, and im using the same paint that i have in the interior for the amp rack
