civichatch
I was just wondering if it is possible to use house subs in a car. I have 2 x10 inch subs in a ported box in my room and was just wondering if it wil hurt them to try em out in my car. I already have a 15 inch sub in car and plan on keeping it that way but just wanted to no if its ok to try it. The 2x10s are 8 ohms each so i wired them together to create a 4 ohm load. So is it ok to test em out. ther rated for 150 watts each and my amp puts out 350 rms at 4 ohms. It may be a really stupid idea but i thought ide ask. Two home audio tens aren't gonna sound near as nice as one car audio 15 especially if they are tuned way low like I think most home audio boxes are. I'm no expert though so someone correct me if I'm wrong. Power Acoustik fubar 12 sony xploding amp 2 ft^3 box @ 35hz

07mazda3s
Sorry to thread jack but why do you have a capacitor if your sub is only 200wrms? Your battery can easily handle that on its own. Also what did you pay for your amp?...It would power my 800wrms sub perfectly. Just because my sub is rated for 200 watts rms doesnt mean that is how much im giving it. Im giving it 350 watts rms right now. and i will be upgrading to the alpine type R 15 or Rockford t1 15. Plus My alt is only 70 amps and i was getting pretty bad dimming during some bass lines. Absolutly no dimming now. I got the capacitor for free. So y not?? Im giving it 350 watts rms right now. and i will be upgrading to the alpine type R 15 or Rockford t1 15. After i do that i will be running 770 watts rms at 2 ohms. So there will be some need for extra power. So y not do it in advance. Plus My alt is only 70 amps and i was getting pretty bad dimming during some bass lines. Absolutly no dimming now. I got the capacitor for free. So y not?? and also i payed 199$ CAD for my amp. It was regular 479$. I got it at futureshop. They no longer sell them its last years model so they were blowing them out. you can still find them on ebay and other places. Its a great little amp. It never gets hot and is well made. 07mazda3s
hey man I wasn't knocking you only asking. I would def use a cap even if I had a 20wrms sub if I got it for free. Also, I really doubt that sub is seeing 350wrms with what...I'm guessing a 50 oz magnet. I don't know too much about sealed boxes bc IMO ported is way better and I've only had one sealed box and it was for like 3 days and I built a new ported one. All I know is, I was blowin' Kicker cvr12's that are rated 400wrms with a 500wrms amp left and right.
