12" Kicker Solo X

Recommended Posts

i ran 3+ to one for over a year, no problems. they are an awesome daily sub.

awesome, I haven't seen anyone do it out here.

but like u said in the right box sure I can see that.

I meant burp sub, I have see them do amazing things in a full blown spl setup, 3-5 sec burp of a tone not music.

I know hugh has alot of experience with them, he would be the guy to talk to about them.

I just never seen anyone have luck with them on music with big power, I know the new ones are suppose to be better so who knows.

of all the testing ive done with the new ones, the only way the hold power better is that the cones wont break in the smaller spl boxes people use in crx's and stuff. it makes no difference as far as thermal failure goes.

what do you mean by thermal failure?

so is the thermal failure real common with those subs?

just depends. its the same as any other sub. burnt coils, slinky coils, burnt tinsels, all common types of thermal failure. as with any sub, an incorrect enclosure will increase the risk of thermal failure. but the solo-x in itself, is not any more prone to thermal failure than any other sub.
