mtxcivic07
I need to know if anyone here knows how long the power wire needs to be so it can reach to under the back seats in a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I cannot find it on the internet anywhere. I will be running the battery under the hood to my Kinetik HC800 under the back seats most likely. Anyone with a 1999-2004 grand cherokee please help b/c they are all the same construction and the same measurements. thanks in advance Quote 18's in a wall to come....Its not all about the posts....check the member #... sean 371
I would stick with 18-20 feet as a good starting point. You'll have a good amount of slack this way. mtxcivic07
yeah, its better to have too much than not enough....... well.. you see i was just trying to find out how much i am going to need b/c i had all the wiring in my civic before this and took it all out and i dont think that it is going to be long enough. I think my power wire will be long enough actually.. but not the wire from the alternator to the kinetik under the back seat... I'll have to check it out and see though... Low n Loud
yea i have had to do the same thing your doing a few times before (in a grand cherokee also). first you have to run 2 runs of whatever gauge wire from your + and - on your primary battery to your kinetik. (remember: + to + and - to -). then you need wire to stretch from your amp(s) to your kinetik. you should be good with ordering 50 feet of whatever size wire you need to make the 2 runs and then wire up your amp(s). civichatch
Why cant he save the wire and money and ground both the battery and the kinetik? Ya i was wondering about that why cant you jsut ground the kinetik to a metal surface. I always wondered why people would run so many negatives? Low n Loud
theres no problem in doing that, but from my experience and others experience, and what they say to do off the website it seems to work best when u do the 2 runs. but by all means if u really dont want to do the runs then u will be fine just grounding out each separately.
