Upgrading Amps

So i'm on my first system, running a diamond d612 sub with a 400w planetaudio amp. I'm kinda new to this so I don't really know all the technical mumbo jumbo. But I looked up the specs on my sub and it can handle up to 1200w. I was wondering how much of a bass increase i'd be looking at if I upgraded to like a 1k amp for example from my 400.

also, quick note. I've got a like two or three year warranty on the sub, so pushing it too hard isn't necessarily a problem, just looking to get max bump out of them

well acutally thats the peak rating of 1200 watts what you should really go for is the RMS which means Root mean square or the continous power which is a better rating on the subwoofer when comparing on which amp to go for adn that sub is rated at 600 watts.I mean are you planning on getting another sub or just stick with one?

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

Uh i dont really know to be honest. For right now, probably sticking with that sub, in the future i'll probably keep that one and just get another sub and a new box for both of them

well then id get that 1000 watt amp but just keep the gain down as that may be a little too much to run 1000 watts to that one sub.and what amp are you planning on running?

Well i'm replacing it at the same place I got it put in, so I should have 100-200 dollars trade in value, and I've got a couple hundred bucks.

maybe like 5-600 tops
