The Big Oki
Oh Man! So much to do and no time to post! I hope you all forgive me. But see what I did in the last days. The trophies for my event are completed! Also I made an event the day before. EXTRA Üüüühh!!! on July 24th. Start at 6pm, registration is for free. No trophies (LOL) just certificates. Everybody who donates something, gets a free "Rindswurst" But here is the blingbling. I GUESS (dont really know) this is the largest amount of trophies EVER, for a car audio event, provided and (basically) assembled by a single person. (Got help from friends, what is about 2-3% of the time needed to complete them). PS. Doug Stockton (SonicFX) is the best lablemaker in the world, PERIOD! Whenever you need lables for trophies, give him the order! The AYA Sound Quality Prices: The "SPL Classics" Prices: dB Drag (up to 2 meters high, 80"): Bass Race (up to 1,85 meters high): dB Cup (up to 1,85meters high): The "Participation" trophies for the places 9- ... : )Ok, who recognizes "something" ? But hey, dont bother me with "the amount of stars and stripes is not correct, I KNOW THAT! ) The special ones: (Strongest man, hardest BITCH, farest trip etc.) All in all about 430+ trophies! 1 ton heavy! I am SURE they will not all go away, what was the plan, but I am prepared this year and dont have to assemble some more at the event bc I had more competitors than trophies! Last year I had to do about 18 more hehe... Rest of the trophies will be used for upcoming events... Too bad that I cant fly all of you in, with or without car Üüüühh!!! Michael www.SQPL.de Rulez! Forevrbumpn
do you have enough points Oki? haha 4000+? thats alot man I also see other fellow SMD members on that page, B, Colt, and Bryan Nyman I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. The Big Oki
Hi guys, a SHORT thank you from me for now. Collecting and working at the datas (records) and results will take a while. I dont want any error in em. So please be patient. I may publish the qualification list so that everybody can check. IT WAS A BLAST! Overwhelming, not really to handle but my judgeteam (5 people with long years practive) made it the best ( I hope). Event was stressy as always, but if you see how big it was, it ran very smooth. No fights, no accidents, no missbehavior, no big arguings. Some talks here and there about rules, but thats normal when it comes to world records and border line things. But we have some wolrd records (dont even know how much) Ok, some statistics: (has to be re checked, but it will come close) The "Warm Up" on friday had 94 (!!!) Participations! (dB Cup, dB Crag, Bass Race) It took til 11 pm to finish it and print the certificates! A wonder NO neighbour did complain! But people were relatively quite. Saturday. HELL WAS OPEN! Weather as usual but not as HOT! What was GREAT! Just to hard rains, but nothing big. Ground was a little messy sometimes, but we survied that. Turnout: Visitors about 1500-2000. Cars (incl. visitors) about 550-600 during the day. dB Crag, dB Cup, Bass Race about 254 (!!!!!!) participations! SPL Classics 84 Competitors (never had that much before at my event) AYA Sound Quality 69 Competitors!!! Also an all time record for us! That makes about 407 for the saturday!!! Together with friday, your right, its OVER 500 participations!!! Damnit! I missed my target of 300 LOL About 300 Rindswursts are gone. Johnnys BBQ was sold out at about 5PM! (he had about 30% more than last year) About 60 Liters of coffee were drunk. Not one slice of bread or a snack (salty sticks and so on) was left. Total sell off hehe! Trophy awards took FOREVER! AYA Sound Quality was EARLIER! Started at 7 PM and took till 8 PM. The SPL Awards were sheduled for 9 PM. But to this time we still did dB Drag Elis. So, ok, it started at 10:30 PM, but if you look how much has been done, it is relatively GOOD in time! "Just" 1.5 hours later than expected. It was the FIRST TIME that I was late. And then, about 340 names were called out and more trophies (bc of the special ones) were given out! Thanks to all people who made it to the LAST trophie what was given out at 1:30 AM!!! It felt like World Finals, just with more Trophies and people ROFL... (no offense, just joking around). Some did leave already, what was understandable. At the end, I went to bed at 4:30 AM that night after cleaning up a bit. The rest has been done by us (some friends helped, thanks by the way) on sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Report will come very later. Have to do it first for the german magazines and George from PASMAG (hes leaving today) will do his article also (btw. Thanks George!!!) Thanks again to EVERYBODY. MM Ü 10 will happen but maybe under different conditions. Its just too much, too expensive for one single guy what needs and GOT much help from others. The area I am doing it is too small for such a size. So I will reduce it to a healthy size (I HOPE so). But fun will not suffer, I PROMISE! Extra Thanks to the sponsore who helped a lot: ACR, Audio Design/HiFonics, Dietz/SPL Dynamics, AIV/Rainbow, Digital Designs, Cactus Sounds, Magnat, Harman Deutschland, ZAPCO Exclusive und Team GCL. Thats for now, got some mor ethings to do. Please be patient with results and world record updates. We may still have some errors in, but at least as less as possible! Thanks from my mum also!!!
