Tub Asko
I have a 1997 GMC C1500 with the 5.7 motor. I recently pulled the gas tank to patch a hole. I reconnected the tank and all wires (double checked to make sure wires and hoses were reconnected properly). I go to start the truck and it would rotate but not start. I pulled the filter and started the pump up and it was pushing gas through the system. I replaced the filter with a new filter. Engine would still not fire. I pulled the ignition coil and brought it to get tested. It tested out fine and while I was at the auto parts store I picked up a distributor cap and rotor. Got home and reassembled everything and it would still not fire. Any ideas? Quote Facebook Youtube Murdered '07 Silverado

badasschevy
have you checked the pressure with a gauge? with the key on you should see 60-66 psi, truck on at idle should be in the high 50's and when you blip the throttle above 60 psi. Soulman07
have you checked the pressure with a gauge? with the key on you should see 60-66 psi, truck on at idle should be in the high 50's and when you blip the throttle above 60 psi. Some are pressurized even higher at idle.... I'd take it to a mechanic and have them to a pressure check on it. I have a 97 astro was the same, It would start with a shot of ether in the intake and run. Wouldn't start when you crank it though. Fuel pump wasn't putting out enough PSI to start or keep it running for long. If it was working before and not working now It may be something simple causing it. Make sure you are getting power to the fuel pump. An there should be a fuel pump fuse/relay somewhere in your vehicle Quote 1993 Chevrolet SWB Pickup Viper 791XV Primer Stage 5/8 Static Drop Kinetik HC1800 Big 3 Knu Flex 0 Team Tex Flex
