nickkresh
hey guys i just put my setup together. i have a pair of eclipse sw8200s hooked up to a t20001bd rockford amp and i have 2 sets of boston pro60s hooked up to a rockford fosgate t8004 amp. Sealed enclosure, facing towards the inside of the car. The system bumps and I was expecting alot more out of my subs. When I play them for awhile and start turning up the bass, the outside of the alumium cone starts to heat up and I don't know whats going on. Car toys said they hooked it up as a 2ohm setting, but they are 4Q subs. So I am wondering if the subs are getting too much power? If they are what can I do? Any other pair of subs I can get that will hook up to that amp? my box is about 3.3 cubed ft per box. Any suggestions?
Neel
Sounds like your clipping... how did the shop set your gains? Read the sticky on gain settings and see what that does. why is this in the sq section? Quote Too Much Stuff to list .
nickkresh
I put it in the Sq section because I was trying to see if anyone knew of any other subs besides mine that would be better for the amp i got.....but i think i might be going with 3 - 12inch w6s. what do you think?
