white4d96 Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I recently purchased a Power Acoustik OV1-2000d. Installed, sounds good, no problems. Except for the bass knob. If set at 'min.' turning the knob up, theres no effect until the halfway mark. Then it's like an on/off switch. And vice versa from 'max' down. Also, if I have my music paused, or muted, but the amp on, when I pass this halfway mark, my woofers move slightly. Out from min to max, in from max to min. My best guess is that I am either getting interference in the cable, or the cable itself needs to be replaced. Maybe with my recent moving of my box eighty bazillion times I squished the cable or something. I am not sure. Anybody else have any insight? PS- are these amps power hungry? I tried setting my gains with a dmm and this thing doesn't seem to want to get to rated power. I know they are overrated, but by how much? I probably have voltage drop; I will recheck with a different meter tomorrow and check my batt voltage while I am at it. Too many projects, too little time...
