JUST MOB IT
hey guys ive been on this forum for a while but i recently registered, but anyways i bought a new cpu cooler for my gaming comp and it seems that it isnt getting all the heat from the cpu. at stock settings it idles pretty high. i overclocked my q6600 to 3.4 and it crashes like 10 secs into a game. the cooler is the xigmatek dark knight. i was thinking about possibly lapping it because the direct touch pipe setup on it doesnt seem smooth. im open to any suggestions

BulletInjection
yep arctic silver 5 You could try lapping it. Did you have the case laying flat when you mounted it? Sometimes if you do it standing up the heatsink will get out of place and make poor contact.
