t-money Posted July 4, 2009 Report Share Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) ok i was lookin at a aq hdc3 18. it looks alot like a dd. im sure its cuz they r made by the same ppl right? idk the wires as leads instead of connectors just looks ugly and cheap but im more interested in performance. how do these subs or dd sound. my other options ar fi bl 18. or dc lv4 18. The cone is kevlar and very strong. go looking through the build logs for them they are in the same class with the lvl4 and lvl 4xl and of what I have seen and heard fall in between the bl and btl. Only issue you will have is if your subs unload to the point the bottom out against the spider landing and shatter it. Kid whom I bought mine off of did this to both. He also ripped the spiders and one of the tinsels on the subs. If you know how to take care of them, they'll be wonderful. AQ recones are fairly cheap. $75 shipped for mine for a copper 15". I'm not sure about softparts from another company, But I'd get LV5 coils from Rusty and that'd be a hell of a woofer if the coil could fit.
