Tuning frequency for box for Level 3 12's?

What frequency should the box be tuned for? Just curious because I plan on upgrading to Level 3's at some point in time, and they just happen to have the same specs when it comes to box volume as my ID's and since i'm planning on having Thumper build me a box I'd like to use the same box for both sets of subs, but the tuning frequency will be the deal maker or breaker. I'd be running a pair of Level 3 12's in a ported box, 1.5 cu. ft per chamber.

i prefer 28-33..

usually closer to 32...for me

but then you also have to take into consideration the resonating Freq of the car.

if you cant find that....get a 10" sub in a sealed box and have it TL'd and that should tell you pretty close to what the resonate freq of the car is.

I was under the impression that the tuning frequency of the box was dictated by the specs of the sub, learn something new everyday.

well, they play a part...but the box is the largest factor, i believe. My box is tuned to 32-34 Hz...but my car peaks at 48-49 Hz.

If I am wrong about that someone please kick me in the head

I will hardly even look at the specs of the Sub When I go to tune a box....and the box usually comes out within at most a db or two of what I was aiming for.

i would tune to 37/38hz and place the box just off the back of the car facing rearward.
