k3n12ock Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 So I'm going to be doing the big 3 (thanks scottiej) and was thinking about getting a Kinetik HC1800 since it's fairly cheap. Would it be a good idea to do those two upgrades and not upgrade my alternator, yet? I have an 01 Impala, the 3.4L v6, and I think the alternator is only about, 100 or so amps? I won't be pushing anything big as of right now, hopefully four 10's on a Fusion amp (I hope) in a ported box in the trunk. 97EXPO Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 i ran stock 130 amp alt with stock battery up front and powermaster battery in the back for 7 months with no problems. i just sold everything is only reason i took it out 2012 scion xb bagged, 2 soundqubed hdc3 12's, soundqubed 2200 for now, need alternator

alvitae Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Should be fine, I have 2 1800's along with the under hood battery on a stock Honda 60 amp alt and have had no problems.
