Guest DC Power Rob
Either a D2400 or equivilent Kinetik, Odyssey, or Deka for the starter and a D3100 or HC2400 equivilent in the back if you have room.. Ditch the YT's though for sure.. I would rather have one killer AGM battery than 3 YT's... ARMYSGT_D
i figured on goin with powermaster or kinetic for the back because im going to have to build a floor so i can flush mount my amps so i will have a bigger area for my battery now . the yellow top was the biggest battery i could fit in that area what do you think of svr batteries Quote current set-up kenwood ddx 712 clarion eq focal 165 k2p front focal 165v2 rear 2 re audio sexxx 12 us amps md3d us amps md42 1 optima yellow top (rear) 1 xs power 5100r (front) big 3 and 1 run 1/0 stinger wire my build my rebuild

Jville140db
I used to bash optima because when I saw them it was in improper use. I used two of YT dual post 35s witha big lead acid up front and never dropped below 12.8 on a stock alt pretty impressive if you ask me. Now I will will say that an AGM had a lower internal resistance and can hold a lot of energy but a gel does have better vibration resistance and can store just as much energy because they have a higher float voltage. Optimas float 13.2 and Idon't know about AGM But as far as I know they float between 12.7 and 12.8. So that means that a gel AKA optima will discharge and recharge slower but deliver more voltage which could be good in a bass race or sustained playing situation but if you want pure burp or need some form of quick discharge then the AGM is better if anyone would like to correct me I won't chop your head off. I am curious which is better as well. 1992Chevy K1500
Keep the Optima YT for the starting and use a kinetic or equivalent in the back. I've never had an Optima I didn't like. I beat on my RT for a couple of years before it quit. However, Optima's shouldn't be used without some battery to aid them in powering the sound system IMO. Even if the engine is running. sully
I'd go with the Kinetik batts, mainly cause i have used them and know they will do a great job. if you don't do those definitely go with the Powermaster, scrap the Optima's unless you get a smoking deal on them.
