Weird problem I have never had before!!

Recommended Posts

So I decided to go out for a fourth meal last night and for some odd reason, my amp for my componets shut on and off repeatedly leaving me with no front speakers. But the sub and rear doors continued to play. I have my voltage guage also "piggy backed" off the amp and it was going crazy. Bout gave me a seizure from the constant blue blinking light! I would shut off the headunit, let it sit for a minute, then turn it back on and everything would be alright for about 30 seconds. Then it would do it again. It was too late so I didnt want to rip anything out to try and diagnose the problem.

But today, it continued to do the same thing, but took it a step further. The sub amplifier and the speakers in the rear doors(that are ran of headunit power) wouldnt even play when the componet amp shut it self off. I was left with absolutely no sound from either cd's, Ipod, or radio. I checked every single connection behind my headunit, at both amps and all the speakers and everything seems to be fine. Anyone got a damn clue what has happened to my system? Do I have a short somewhere or is my headunit possesed?

Here is a list of the stuff in my truck.

Sounds like you have a short in your remote wire somewhere

Thats what it was! Was shorting out on the chassis. Now fixed!
