Lincoln Ls Factory Changer and Steering Controls

Recommended Posts

Im a noob at forums, but ive scoured the net looking for a head unit that i can retain the factory steering wheel controls and factory disc changer, would prefer alpine since thats what the car came with. I havent been able to find anything other than "it should work, install it and find out" Most steering wheel control adapters i have found say they are not compatible with my car. Car is a 2000 Lincoln LS with the Alpine premium stereo (factory 6x8 woofers removed, tied into the line for the factory sub amp, hifonics brutus 1201bxi and two kicker 12inch comps in small sealed enclosure, 139.0 termlab with factory head unit, alt, and battery) Thanks for any help, and i apologize if this is in the wrong area.

you can pretty much make any radio that has a wireless remote or a wired remote in put work with the stering wheel controls the ones with wired remote inputs do work better so i would look for that option and then all you would need is the right adapter for it IE if you got the cda9886 you would need the pac swi-jack as far as the disc changer you will more than likely lose that option if any body else knows how to keep that please id like to know that as well and did you have any head units in mind maybe a couple we could compare

Havent looked too hard, but a Alpine IDA-X305 or IDA-X303, i like the center knob on the IDA's, would also seriously consider any of the Kenwood Excellon series, always been a big fan of them.
