vonhanson Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 Hey everyone. i got bored of my stock headunit in my truck so i put my old ass pioneer in it. i looked @ the back and its a DEH-2000D i think, made in 1999 old school. and i have the big 3 done. but it dimms pretty bad even just with the truck running ( subs not hitting) but it never did that before. not in my old car either. i'ma try to hook my capacitor up tomorrow and see if it stops but do you think its just gonna die out soon? i'ma upgrade soon hopefully, just wanted to get rid of the stocker for now. 99' Ranger XLT Ex Cab Stepside 33'' Bfg M/ts on Black Steelies. B4SSB0Y Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Did you wire it to the factory HU ground? that could be your issue, try grounding it somewhere else. Also double check with a DMM to make sure your getting 12 volts at the power to the headunit. Car - 99 Neon Sport Batt - 1 Redtop up front On 200A Excessive Amperage alt Sub - 2 12" Kicker L7's in ~2 cuft @ 36hz each on a Xtant X1001 @ 1 ohm Front Highs/Mids - JVC CS-FS6 and Infinity 6022i on Xtant A2002 Rear Highs/Mids - None HU - Pioneer DEH-P8600MP 1/0 wire ran thru entire car aswell as big3 DB - 144.5 @ Dash.
