1992Chevy K1500
I've been looking at components for my carputer that I plan on building. I was looking at spending less than $300 if possible. These are the components I've chosen so far: Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811144232 MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813135240 Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819103687 HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136075 Sound card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16829271001 Unfortunately, the price comes out to $320. Does anyone know any components that would be just as good but slightly cheaper. I would prefer a processor that runs at at least 2.5Ghz. I would also prefer a hard drivegreater than 100 GB. Also, I would prefer to buy from Newegg. Thanks in advance. Quote My comp setup (Not bad for what it is): HP Compaq Presario V6120US laptop with: 15.4" widescreen AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz processor 2x1GB stick DDR2 SDRAM (667 Mhz) Seagate Momentus 500GB SATA HDD 128MB shared video memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit 12 cell Lithium Ion battery (actual battery usage time: 6 hours) What it does: On a USB 2.0 Wireless card

1992Chevy K1500
wheres your operating system? monitor? inverter? I have a Windows XP disc around here somewhere (I have to find it). I have a small 15" monitor that I have to find a location for (if I can't find a location, I can buy a smaller one). I have a 3000 watt and 600 watt inverter for use in my truck (not yet installed). The enD
I would buy a USB touchscreen kit. You put it on a screen, connect it to the USB, drivers... and you have it converted to TS. And 15" ain't small for a car... dash. Edit: I'd also like to see that build. 1992Chevy K1500
I'll post a build log. Can anyone point me in the direction of any cheaper components that are equal to what I chose? And I haven't been able to find any USB touchscreens for cheap. Most were $200+. The enD
That is the first thing I found on ebay. Maybe there's even cheaper. http://cgi.ebay.com/15-inch-USB-Panel-Kit-...id=p3286.c0.m14 Edited August 14, 2009 by The enD
1992Chevy K1500
Thanks for the link, I'll look into it. As for the carputer, I completely forgot the RAM. I found some new components. I was able to cut the price.
