rival904
My tensioner was almost locked. Instead of puttin it over a grooved pulley to finally put it on, we slid it over a smooth idler, if that makes sense. 2004 Yellow F150 STX 4x4 Single Cab 2 Yellow DC Power 270SP's Alts 4(and counting) XS Power 6500's 4 DD3515s Supercharged 53cu.ft 4th order blowthrough 8 DD M1b's 6 Selenium 8's 2 Selenium ST350s 154.1 @ 41hz Legal Burp Build Log

loganberry
That's awesome, I was under the impression it was the 5.4, do you still have the dc power alts to see how big the pulleys are? Guest DC Power Rob
That's awesome, I was under the impression it was the 5.4, do you still have the dc power alts to see how big the pulleys are? 4.6L and 5.4L Ford engines are totally different on the front end.. You wouldn't think so, but they are.. Pulleys on the alts are exactly the same FYI.. Logan, please Email me some pic of the bracket as it sits in the truck with the secondary alt in it, and I'll let you know what you need to do.. ((I'm in the shop working)) There's a couple variances of how to do things here because just as the 4.6/5.4 is different, the 5.4 in the F150 is different than the 5.4 in the Expedition, which is different than the 5.4 in the F250/F350... Duals on Ford's are a P.I.T.A!!
Guest DC Power Rob
. Havin trouble getin the belt on..won't be able to finish today gotta go to work soon This is a better view of how a 3V 5.4 in an F150 should be.. That bracket's been ground on from the looks of it, my experience tells me that the hole where you need to have the idler, was ground off.. Another vehicle/view same 5.4L 3V V8 And for good measure, a 5.4L 2V V8 with one 390, one 270..
rival904
Rob, I ground nothing off the bracket other than what needed to be to make it fit. It hit my valve cover, my ohio gen alt, and your 270so you sent me didn't fit in the bracket so that was ground down as well, dave was aware of the alt hittin the ear of the bracket. 2004 Yellow F150 STX 4x4 Single Cab 2 Yellow DC Power 270SP's Alts 4(and counting) XS Power 6500's 4 DD3515s Supercharged 53cu.ft 4th order blowthrough 8 DD M1b's 6 Selenium 8's 2 Selenium ST350s 154.1 @ 41hz Legal Burp Build Log
