i was wondering if i put my amplifier on highpass to start at 100hz and have the right size coil on my midrange to stop it at 5khz would that work for a bandpass filter?

What is a bandpass filter?

do you have components with a crossover or just trying to run door speakers off of an amp?

what are you trying to use and do with it?

scratch the whole bandpass filter idea nonsense for a second.

this is my setup i have 3 PowerBass L-65-90 6.5” Mid Range Drivers in each of my front doors so six all together running off of a 4 channel amp

i was gonna set my amplifer to highpass at about 100hz and then order oneof the low pass coils from parts express to play frequencies lower than 2khz

im also gonna run 4 8inch mids in my rear deck all of the same 4 channel amps i already calculated my ohm loads and how im going to wire them the rear 2channels will be at 2ohms stereo and the front to channels will be at like 2.6 ohms

also in the future i plan on getting a pioneer avh-p4100dvd and from my understanding it has a highpass filter built in it also.

A little out there, but it'll work. Buying capacitors for frequencies under 1000hz gets a little costly. Should workout just fine though my man. Make sure you put a coil on each woofer though for the best experience.

yeah that will work but thats only a 6db slope on the low pass. It might play pretty high with just a coil on it. If you had another active crossover laying around you would be better off.

you mentioned running 6 mids off of a 4 channel amp. How are you going to do that without having different ohm loads at the speakers. Also the passive crossover points will be different on a 4 ohm load than a 2 ohm load.
