SmokeyDog Posted September 7, 2009 Author Report Share Posted September 7, 2009 Is the wire you cut, red about 8 guage in size and had a rubber boot where it connected to the alt, if so that was your charging wire, and now your car will be running only on your battery and your battery wont recharge.Also the battery is connected to the starter directly from the battery, the other wire you(from the battery) see runs all your accesories. battire is chargeing got a wire going from alt to battire pos. one from battire ground to sturt. one from battire ground to block. took just the wire off the alt all connections at battire are the same. Oh ok so you have the Big 3 done, well then as long as you have an upgraded wire going from the alt to battery you should be good, I would just make sure it is taped off, so it doesnt short on anything. Edit: To your above post, yes you did it good, you didnt have to cut the wire but since you upgraded it didnt need to be there anyway.
