weird issue that i cant figure out my buddy was running a crunch powerzone 1400.2 he had a dealer install everything they used 5g wiring and a 100amp fuse didnt have any problems with it well just recently he upgraded to the zx 850.2 and he hooked it up 1day later he woke up his bat was dead and his cap said volt hi and he started his car and the amp goes on and about 10mins or so the amp will heat up and go into protection mode i went on kickers web sight and they say 2g and 120 amp fuse could this be the reason why his amps over heating??? need some input

yea more than likely need to upgrade to a real 4 guage at least like knu or stinger.. cuz the kickers gonna put out way more power than the crunch... and probally ied with a 150 amp fuse... and tell him to get another battery and lose the cap.. try that and if it doesnt correct the issure maybe a inside issue my dude

he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:

thanks for the input lol ya told him not to buy the cap just a band aid to a bigger problem and i was reading on kickers website and they say 120 amp fuse and 2g but im think that 2g is kinda big for that amp so do should i tell him 4g would be good?

he could probally get away with a good 4 guage but in the long run might as well go ahead and get 1/0 cuz its gonna save alot money.. wish i had learnd that lesson earlier in life.. lol :search:

im looking on hifisoundconnection and stinger dosnt sell 2g they only sell 0 3 4 8 gadge power cable would 3gadge be good enough casue 0g is like 4 dallors a foot and the 3 is like 2.46 a ft or does anyone know a website where i can find some 2g stinger power cable?
