SI Girl
Getting two DC lvl4 10"s with lvl5 coils. Got a US Amps MD2D 1500x1 at 1ohm. Got an 07 Honda Civic EX Coupe. Planning on bassracing in the 130-139.9 class. A. Should I forward fire the subs and port and seal it off from the trunk? B. Should I forward fire the subs and port up through the factory subwoofer that was removed from the rear deck? (and still seal off the trunk) C. Rear fire the subs and port. I got 2 Eclipse 12's now firing back and they sound good, I spun the box around without sealing them from the trunk and it sounded like @#$%. Thanks for any help. white4d96
IIRC subs/port forward does better on the meter. Reason it doesn't sound good to the ear is because the wave doesn't have room to properly form that way, whereas it is better formed by the time it goes through the trunk, bounces off the back wall, and goes forward to your ear. I'm sure someone else can shed more light on this (or show that I just fail and am wrong =P ) Quote Too many projects, too little time...
