CaptainzPlanetz
You would be correct sir, Flared aero ports requre slightly less port area, as they are more efficient. Slot ports however would require 12-16. ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ All BS aside, If I see one more comment in here that is NOT about the pre-sale, I will start the vacations. EXOcontralto
Only custom made Aero ports are harder to tune, the advantage of a custom made port is mainly you get to have a large port area with out running multiple ports, however if you do presicion ports they already have a range of tuning frequencies available, and are changed by extending or retracting the length of the port, the only thing with precision ports is you may have to run multiples to get the proper port area for the size of your box, the general rule of thumb is 12-16 square inches of port per cubic foot of your box. With that comes the actualy ports - Where could I find correct ports for this application? No on has yet answered if this way is the "best" way to go. - Slotted Ports facing rear v.s. Aeroports facing upwards? i was stuck on slot's for a long while till i learned how much more efficient aero ports are. you can use less port area for aeros = saved space. but that doesnt really matter for you . you can buy them at www.partsexpress.com http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/searc...amp;x=0&y=0 for a random box, lets say 6cuft, you can use three 6" flared ports (gives 14sqin of port area per cuft). tuning the box to 32hz would mean each port would have to be 33.8" long. 38hz would be 23" long. (i have no experience with that woofer so i dont know what it likes besides what AA gives) 7cuft, 32hz, three 6" aero circle ports, each would be 28.5" long same with 40hz is 17" long each port. 38hz is 19" 35hz is ~23"
CaptainzPlanetz
Actually it might be easier to make a slot port, as the aero ports only can extend to 17" long, so you would have to glue a PVC pipe or something in between in order to the the length you need for the tuning you want. ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ So screw the aeroports? - Slotted port will be just fine? - I need a design!! CaptainzPlanetz
The slot port will work fine, and will be much more cost efficient, however about your design I cant really help you with that, I am decent at designing but I would much rather you get a design from a more so experieced builder than I. ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............
