VistaV6
So, some of you guys posted up saying how my box wasn't very good. So now that I know how to build a box (in general)...I was thinking that I would go all the way and make a really good one. Two http://www.lightningaudio.com/products/pro...S&p_status= Off two http://www.lightningaudio.com/products/pro...S&p_status= Space I would like for it to be in, 36 W, 11 H, 20 D....Shouldn't need to be that big....but lets see what you guys can come up with. Thanks too anyone who provides some help . Quote SUCCESS is a decision, NOT a dream. You have to name the price you are willing to pay to get it. "You didn't have an ice pick on you? Amateur. Cr@sh
The reccomended is sealed only and .75 which is really small. The measurements you have provided give room for much more. Is there any reason why you chose these in particular? Quote My old install at cardomain, never finished!
VistaV6
Well, like the box I slapped them in today (the one which people disagree with) is 3 cu ft at 33-34hz. But I had to take my spare out and I am going to have to build a brace and whatnot in the space for it. The size I gave is the biggest box I can put into my trunk without moving junk all around.... If you need to make it smaller, the best way for my situation would be decrease the width. Quote SUCCESS is a decision, NOT a dream. You have to name the price you are willing to pay to get it. Cr@sh
What I was saying is the subs you chose are to be put in a .75 cubic ft sealed enclosure, the manufactorer doesnt even give ported specs, which is I am assuming you have them in? Becuase when you say 33-34hz you would be normally speaking about a ported box's tuning. I would go with these before the lightning: http://www.woofersetc.com/p7530/KFCW2511--...m-Subwoofer.htm http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainmen...ofers/KFC-W2512 The specs on the Kenwood site are for the 2512 but it's the same woofer. VistaV6
Ive already got the subs...and lightning audio sold them in a ported box, so I know they intend/can be used in one. Sanitarium
box design: 2.49 cubic feet after displacement, 23.75 inches of port, tuned to 31.54 hz, all 3/4 mdf. External measurements: 36x11x17.5 Port: slot port (put it all the way to one side) 9.5x2.5x 20" long (will be down the side and accross the back a little) If you need a visual or a cut sheet, that will take time.
