bobo333
i opened one of the boxes and this came out next to one of my 6.5"s its an 18" RE MT and has dual 1.4ohm coils, dual tinsel leads and some special spiders that i cant remember... its new home: in the car for a test run: its by far the biggest sub ive ever seen let alone heard and its pretty crazy lol... that weekend a mate came over with a termlab and we changed a few things running off my response 1500w monoblock it did 146.1db @ 47hz we didnt clamp it but it was probably getting less than 1000w the box is 8 cubic feet tuned to 37hz, it doesnt really sound good on music (compared to the wall) but obviously hit a lot harder in the high 40hz... not a bad start whats in the other package though? ^^^ clicky pics for build logs ^^^
bobo333
ok heres the latest update... after getting the RE tested with my baby amp these arrived which means i could open the second package... its a SounDigital SD8000.1, ive never had anywhere near this much power before so i wired it up to 2.8 ohms to start with to be on the safe side... the batteries are located as close as possible for optimum power transfer i really need to make up some adapters for multiple 0ga inputs to the amp but it goes alright as is so far i also added some funky new floor mats for the comp (everyone knows that green shag pile adds deebeez) at the comp i started with the gains down and slowly turned them up during the day... this is my best score: im very happy with the scores and i won my class at the comp too , im also now the loudest daily driver in my state and one of the loudest single sub cars in the country (that i know of) after the comp i did a couple of demos and this happened: heres a pic one of my mates from another forum made up after the comp ^^^ clicky pics for build logs ^^^

bassl0va
I likez teh RE! Mainly because I have one too, and I'm getting a second for a wall! YAY! This is a great build, very inspiring, and it makes me even more excited about doing my new build. Also, if you ever want to get rid of those Jaycar amps I'll have them . They are great amps. You must be doing something right Im loving my SD8000 too. Im still amazed by how much power that little amp puts out. yeah the glue they use on the mirrors must be super strong , there must be some kind of evil magic happening in the SD factory to get that much power from such a small amp, they are crazy... i was beating on it all day today too and it barely got warm I likez teh RE! Mainly because I have one too, and I'm getting a second for a wall! YAY!This is a great build, very inspiring, and it makes me even more excited about doing my new build. Also, if you ever want to get rid of those Jaycar amps I'll have them . They are great amps. thanks mate, i dont think il be getting rid of them for a while though , im getting another one next week... heres todays work, i finally rewired the sub for MOAR POWAAAA, i also shortenend the speaker runs and evened them up: i did a quick burp to see how much louder it was and this happend: lucky my car wasnt optioned with the passenger side airbag that usually occupies this space! i also made a new port tuned to 29hz for music and added a 2 channel so i could have some highs hooked up again lol (ive been rolling the last couple of week with only bass) heres some flex with the new port and added power... the sub was getting pretty hot coz i played a few songs before this so its a quick one... link for mobile peeps: once i got the music port in i started doing some work on the SPL port... i added a couple of layers of MDF: rounded over all the edges with my super professional router table and bogged up the gaps: still needs another coat of bog to fill a couple of imperfections and some paint to make it look pretty... hopefully all this means 150db+ finally! thanks for lookin ^^^ clicky pics for build logs ^^^
