manny10473 Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 ok.. so ill get down to the point.. i took my dadz truck to the local shop.. now.. this is the shop that has done all the work on his truck.. and.. with out even checkin anything they say that that battery is bad.. as they go to give me the truck back.. one of the guys there asked me.. "hey did u have bump when u came in here.." ofcourse not.. thats why i had taken it in..lmao.. so 2 minutes later probably less.. he comes back in from the garage with my amp on his hand.. and says.. "hey ur amp is bad.. the channel where ur subs were hooked up is fried.. " now can some of u guys that have more experience help me out.. should i trust that judgement.. or go to another shop??
keepinitloud Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I'm a little confused why was the truck taken to the shop was it a car audio shop? You said that they told you you have a bad battery and a bad amp is that why it was not playing and why you took it in to this place? re clarify please 06 chrysler 300C Hemi one mmatts dreadnaut 15 powered by a planet audio vx 2200d fosgate p200 running planet audio 8" midbass drivers and super compression tweeters stock battery and a stinger spv44 Irragi 300 amp alternator big 3 1/0 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/55075-system-in-my-300c/page__view__findpost__p__763656__fromsearch__1
manny10473 Posted September 22, 2009 Author Report Posted September 22, 2009 ok.. so .. my dad was goin out..and the truck didnt start.. we checked everything on the truck.. before jumpstarting it..and 1 of his amps was on.. keep in mind the truck was off.. and the battery was drained..we jumpstarted the truck.. and his system turned on..except for the subs.. since the subs were not playing.. i took it to the shop.. the guys didnt check the amps or any of the sound system components.... and just said that it was the battery that made everything (subs) turn off...(ofcourse i had taken it in so they could check the system..i wasnt to worried about the battery..i didnt even mention it)...so right before they took it out of their garage.. they noticed that there was no bump in the truck.. and 1 of them went back to ask me if there was bump when i got there.. i said no..and so 2 minutes later the same guy that had asked me if i had bump..came back with my amp in his hand and said it was smoked.. ok so the reason i kinda want a second opinion.. is because.. at first they were seriously blamin everything on the battery..and said that was why my subs were not working properly..then like i sed.. they blamed it on both the battery and a bad amp..
Loudcav Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 the amp staying on is what killed the battery then if the amp is smoked Jumpstarting the car with the amp on didnt help
manny10473 Posted September 22, 2009 Author Report Posted September 22, 2009 oh crap.. so pretty much is my fault for being an idiot huh..lol
