Rogers Posted October 3, 2009 Report Share Posted October 3, 2009 sounds like a release bearing... i had a mercury topaz awhile back and one day the release bearing took a shit on me and left the clutch fully engaged... it was scary... i was backing out of a parking spot too... i almost hit a car... i got lucky and was able to cram it in second gear and put home very slowly... sounds like its time for a new clutch kit... Rogers Posted October 3, 2009 Report Share Posted October 3, 2009 hummm.. its possible but no probable... but that might be the original clutch... it may just be time to replace.... but dont rule out your other options... i would bleed it first.... then if that dont work i would take it to a reputable mechanic..... but them second gear chirps are hard on them clutches.... just for the fact that you have to dump them real hard....
