slugdub
The video is long, but getting the gist is recommended. Its a cool story of the 'greatest' record sample of all time. This fascinating, brilliant 20-minute video narrates the history of the "Amen Break," a six-second drum sample from the b-side of a chart-topping single from 1969. This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music -- a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures. Nate Harrison's 2004 video is a meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip. Xplorer
Wow, that was a very good video. Never knew what that break's name was, and now I know everything about it! And I didn't skip around the video either, I watched all 18 minutes, 9 seconds

I assume it was some sort of college project and it turned out pretty neat. Only problem is, one of the guy's mentioned, Squarepusher, is always in my car stereo because it sounds great but now all I hear is that one sample... grrr
