From the whole amp, both channels bridged/strapped to that load?

That's a pretty obscenely large number, was that with true RMS meters from reputable brands?

My AB VFL400.1 doesn't do that much power...

Yes, that was with the amp bridged.

So about 3.25Ω an amp.

They're rated 600w @ 4Ω per 1500D so it's right around spec.

Ahh makes sense. I hadn't had any coffee yet, wasn't allowing for the halved impedance :S

I'm not sure what he was using but ours were $300 flukes. Verified on two or three different sets and my cheap set as well. When testing mine for an RMS vs PEAK I would let it go for about 3-4 seconds into the burp before noting the the numbers. Peak was 1700, rms was around 1400 at 6 ohm. This was one amp "strapped" at 2 ohm nominal.

Should have multi-quoted.

If you can supply these amps with current they can run a 1 ohm nominal load per amp. People seem concerned with the longevity of these amps but I havent seen or heard of any failures myself. As for running 4 18s they can produce enough juice to get them moving especially if you get them near the 2 ohm load after rise.
