Another Tahoe Build 18KW (RF) - 4 18"(FI BTL)

Wow. That probably too more time than anyone of us can think of I bet. I really admire your fiberglass skills. I really want to get into doing fiberglass. Great idea on the internal battery locations. It does save up a lot of room when you can use the air above the batteries too. Cant wait to see this baby in action.

O and I am sorry but I almost jizzed on your thread when I saw those DC alt.... Which version and rating?

Someone else beat me to it..I was going to ask where in Alabama you were. I'm in Vernon, AL..about 2.5 hours away from Birmingham. I'd LOVE to see this sometime, but I'm sure I'll never have the opportunity to..I'm never in Birmingham.

Also, you've done an amazing job. I think it all looks incredible. Keep up the good work!

Well, I smoked an amp, shit happens right. Turns out, the amp side fan came completely loose from the ckt bd, and was bouncing around inside until, BAMMMM, a short. I till ya, when that amp went it just kept smoking for about 15 minutes. The whole interior was engulfed in smoke. If you where outside the vehicle, you would of thought I was smoking a Labrador joint. Here are some shots.

This just inspired me to make some changes in this build.

The first is to remove the batteries from the box and move them under the vehicle. By adding the batts in the box changed my tuning a lot, and I want to get it back to that 35 HZ tune point. Battery picks.

Next is going to be re-covering the box and all panels using 1/4" foam padding.

Also, pulling the Alpines out of the door, and building new door panels for 2 pair RF T1652 in each door. Nothing over the top, but nice.

I have also been contemplating adding a 10” BTL to the center console, driving with an RF-T500.2. This setup was in my wife’s Mustang, but we aren’t using this car much anymore, so it is a shame to just waste it. Here are some shots of that build.

I don't know how I missed this build until now! Excellent work. It all looks great, and I really love the door pods. Very nice.

We are only about 2 hours apart. I know you said you don't compete, but have you had it metered or do you plan on going to Scrapin' The Coast in MS this summer?

Yea, I might be up for this one. PM me the dates so I can plan.

I have never had it metered. I really don't think it will do well due to the sun roof. It hits pretty hard, tho. Hard enough where the rear wiper motor broke completly off the support bracket.
