Any more than that and the amperage required to pop it will cause serious voltage drop over the wire anyway. A 250A takes what, a few minutes to pop when actually flowing that? I think the specification for fuses is like 15 seconds at 150% and 5 seconds at 200%? It's been a while since I read it but yeah... Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
