I think it will do that in most OBDII vehicles, but IIRC if you get a MLA with the alt the codes will go away, and you will have even more voltage. ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ Where most people have issues with alternators on GM vehicles is running multiple alternators and piggybacking the excitation circuits which does cause problems because it pulls the voltage on the lamp terminal too low. As for doing a single upgrade, we have NO issues with codes of any kind, EVER on the GM vehicles. All our voltage regulators are special versions manufactured by the OEM manufacturer for GM and our regulators are built on the same line, in the same factory as theirs to make absolutely sure that we have ZERO compatibility issues ever on these vehicles.. Iraggi Alternator Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 False. I would ignore your installer on that one. We have never had any problem running a single alternator in ANY vehicle... Ever. Mulit setups will pop up a light at times. Nothing you cant remedy, just dont hook it up incorrectly. We have NASA build our regulators so they work in all atmospheres and conditions.
