AP Zoutes
So, I'm planning a system for this winter that will include 4 x FI Q12's and Boston Acoustic Z6 front stage. I have to make an amp decision. Their are Four brands I'm looking at doing. Digital Design, Soundstream, Cliff Designs, and Rockford Digital Designs = 1 x Z1 (3000 x 1@ 1) and 1 x c4a (280 x 2 @ 3) $1800 Soundstream = 1 PCA3500 (3500 x 1 @ 1) and 1 tra1000.2 (375 x 2 @3) $1060 Cliff designs = 2 x 28001 (2800 x1 @1 ea) and 1 80.4 (360 x 2 @3) $ 1900 Rockford Fosgate = 1 x t40001 (4000 x1 @1) and T8002 (400 x 2 @3) $1700 These are all clean amps and the spec's are legit (manufacture specs). The biggest differences would be the price and current draw. Of course more current draw the more it will cost me to run them (batts and alts) FYI I'm leaning more towards Soundstream / RF If it was your money what would you do and why? dmanson
why not go RF. it's the 3rd cheapest on your list and they have hell of a reputation. besides those amps are way underrated so you'll be getting more then what you paid for........... 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative. (2)-RFT165s components, ...... 4 separate 1 inch tweetersRF T600-2(fronts) Punch 450.4(rear) Audiocontrol 3.1. DC power 260amp alternator w/MLA Module
AP Zoutes
My only concern with RF is the damping factor. I heard it's low and have seen no spec showing the #. But yeah, I think all my future systems will include RF.
