is the port calculator on carstereo.com right? is the lenght you get always match the hz wanted?

for my box it said use 12''round port 13.42 long. thats what i did. for 38 hz. well i peeked at 36hz 140.5 on a sweep from 35 to 45 hz

does this seem right? what did i do wrong?

thanks for helping

wat u tune at and wat u peak at are 2 different things... like in my hhr i tuned a box to 33hz and it peaked at 39hz.. i tuned to 39hz next and peaked at 39hz.. i had a box in last night and was tuned at 46hz and peaked at 44hz..

is there a reason why? i am asking because i want to tune a little higher you be louder on spl. i was going for 38 for both daily and spl. so if my box is peaking at 36 with a 38hz tuned port should i tune it to 36 to match the boxes peak, or tune too 42 and hope for 40. i am confused
