Power wire could be grounding itself somewhere between the amp + batt or a number of other things. When I had this problem I bought new wires and when I hooked the amp back up it fried. Then I hooked up my old amp and everything was good. I still kinda think it was a little of both for me. If you have another old or cheap amp the try it and see what it does. I know if I ever find out you were messing with my 17yr old daughter, i'm diggin' off in that ass and then your next post will be asking for tips on how to remove my size 12 shoes from your ass.
