Running speaker wires on power wire side?

Recommended Posts

Quick question guy's, will I get alt noise if I run my front door speaker wires to my trunk (amp)? They will be ran on the same side as the power wires.

I just don't want to deal with the annoying sound.

Thanks.

well you, g-fresh, are a very unique exception

rca+power line almost guarantees noise

rca+speaker line is basically the same, but in an rca, the shielding makes almost an antenna, and it is then multiplied 10-100 times by the amplifier (depending on how powerful it is)

so basically speaker line doesnt pick it up as well, and if it does it makes a much less noticeable noise. but if possible, try and keep them as separate as possible. If its not possible, you should be ok, but it ~MAY~ have some sort of noise. key word is may...

It's possible, why chance it if you don't want to deal with it?

I don't want to deal with tearing my car to run my wires away from the power wires.

You have a very good point though lol.

I did this once, with my rcas, power wire, and speaker wire and didn't get any noise..

that would be cool if it works for me.

x2 speaker wire can barely be hurt by power wire (unless you are talking about drawing 1300+ amps of current). if possible, keep em seperate, if not then it should be just fine

Current Setup:

Factory HU with LOC

mids/highs-Insignia components

Sub- E8 in bass tube

Amp- sae-1200d

Show Setup:

HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony)

fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps

rears- Infinity Kappa coax

mid/high amp - Autotek 5600

Subs - 2 RE SE 15's

Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D

Box - 5cubes sealed

Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0

SECOND SKIN
