turns out DD sent me the wrong coil subs, so I have 4 D2's and some D4's, havent checked all the coils, yet.

So looks like tommorrow I will be pulling my headliner down, cutting the MDF for the roof, and pulling subwoofers out and shipping them back to DD.

Hell, depending on how productive I am feeling, I might trim panel it and make it look all sexy and shit.

But either way, roof is priority number 1.

i learned my lesson today, cadence amp will run at .5ohm, but its not even remotely clean power.

if jeff hasnt told you, i only have 7 working subs atm, wont be able to get recones till the 7th.

looks like my best option is to man up, and put the 2nd amp in, so i can have clean power all around

yea he told me about the text ... i was like

dude the subs will take the power, its proven!!! i got inside jeffs box and rewired his subs down. should be seein around 7KW now.

clean power is the key for you man. your EQ is probably a problem point as well. you are probably using it to boost the output voltage though right? id get a better head unit and pull that p.o.s out. eq will multiply the distortion/clipping by 10 with a slight clip.

2ohm, gain on half, 100% no smell at ALL, wire it down to .5ohm, and dont touch ANY HU settings or anything, almost instant smelly.

that came from jeffs mouth ... and i agree.

a decent head unit imo will put that eq back in the box where it shoulda stayed.

after you recone 5 - 10 more woofers let us know how much you still like that eq if you wanted something to control the bass from the woofers, just get an LC-1 from PAC and call it a day.

it clipped when you turned the knob on the eq did it not?

No, it didnt, the knob on the EQ was wide open, I just turned the deck down to where it stopped clipping (34 outta 40)

Sorry, aint buying a new deck.
