Team-Atomic-Andrew
well i want to pull it out 2 paint it ok well start by finding your local dealership, they genearlly are nice to give you a "exploded" view of your dash and components, but usually there are hundreds of screws and wires so be careful to label each one
baggedon4s
not that bad. remove everything you can trim wise. end caps, gague bezel, knee bolsters, glove box..radio, ect. Dropp the steering coloum, remove the cluster, un do the bolts by the windshield, the ones by the door opening at the bottom of the dash, and start to rock it back.and see where you stand. Its not that hard, 2 people maybe 45 min-hour to get it out Take you battery out of the truck before you start, its alittle over kill, but youll see wires with yellow sheething, and yellow connectors. Thats your airbag shit. Always have your battery out at least 20 min before disconnecting/reconnecting them. But allthe other connectors only replug into one place, so screwing up the wiring isnt gonna happen Ive got the dash out of my daily driven 99 Burban right now for paint. Everyone looks funny when I puyll up, and open the door, and there is no dash Edited November 12, 2009 by baggedon4s Quote 99 suburban, ranger rover headlights, SS front bumper, roll pan with frenched tag, 2nd row delete, glassed dash..audio to come whenever I figure out what I want.
