clouduz Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Okay I have a 15" DC Audio Lvl 4XL. Will be run by a SAZ-3000D at 2 ohm. Not sure how the aero thing totally works, but if my understanding is correct make a sealed box and put an aero in correct. lol well i know it's a bit more than that. I used the12volt to calculate box volume. 30 Width 16 Height 16 Depth comes out to 3.46766 cubes. I figure with sub displacement and aero port displacement I should be around 3 cubes correct? I don't know the formula to subtract them properly. From reading I was thinking (1) 6" aero should be good? I used that a bases for calculating tuning on the 12volt. 6" port 3.2 box volume with a tuning of 38 hz 12.101200000000002 so if I did everything correct I would cut the port to 12.1 inches? And if i made a mistake somewhere please correct me. Summary box 30X16X16 want a 6" aero if port volume is correct Questions 1.build a sealed box and then put in a aero of correct length? that's all? 2. Does it matter where port is? I want sub up port to side if possible Goals Move as much air as possible while retaining sound quality
